Children in Arkansas have the highest risk of food insecurity in the country. The Research conducted by feeding america from 2006 to 2008, shows 24.4 percent of children in Arkansas risk hunger. The state also had the fastest growing rate of food insecurity with a 6 percent increase since the 2005-2007 study.Arkansas has the third highest rate of food insecurity in the country.Nearly one in four of Arkansas’ children suffer from hunger and food insecurity--that’s 166,000 children, or 24.4 percent of the state’s 680,000 youngest. Many people suffered from foodinsecurity between the years 2007-2009 in the state of Arkansas.
